Real estate market experts in Turkey have named the average prices for renting apartments in Istanbul as of October 2022. What is the average cost of renting a property in Istanbul? You must have heard that rental housing in Istanbul has risen in price significantly over the past year? If you want more accurate figures, then the growth of rental rates on an annual basis amounted to 144%. At the same time, over the past two years, rent in Istanbul has risen in price by 319%. Agree, impressive numbers? This is due to several reasons: high inflation, the weakening of the Turkish lira against world currencies, high demand for rent.
Despite the impressive rise in prices, there are several areas in Istanbul where you can rent an apartment for less than 5,000 liras (about $ 268 at the exchange rate on November 25, 2022).
We have prepared a rating of the districts of Istanbul with an indication of the average prices for rental housing in Turkish Lira. In the most expensive districts of Istanbul, renting an apartment costs from 15,000 to 28,500 lira, and in the cheapest – up to 5,000 lira.
