The most expensive and cheapest countries in Europe in 2022
Eurostat in the course of the study identified the cheapest and most expensive countries in Europe at the end of 2022. The study affected not only the EU countries, but also many other European countries, including Albania, Montenegro and even Turkey.
Eurostat took into account the prices of more than 2,000 consumer goods and services in 36 European countries that participate in the Eurostat-OECD PPP (purchasing power parity) program. The study covered 27 EU countries, three EFTA countries (Switzerland, Norway and Iceland), five EU candidate countries (Montenegro, Turkey, Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia), including Bosnia and Herzegovina (a potential candidate country). Turkey is named the cheapest country in Europe, and Switzerland is the most expensive.
